Read below on characterization of filters and membranes
Filters and membranes are distinguished by a distinctive porosity, at which the narrowest points of the through-pores mostly have a fundamental importance. QUANTACHROME provides the following test methods for the characterization of filters and membranes:
- Hg-porosimetry (pore analysis of all pores) with the analyzers of POREMASTER-series
- Porometry (analysis of through-pores) with the analyzers of POROMETER 3G-series
Moreover for the further characterization of such materials these methods can be applied :
- Gas adsorption (BET surface and pore analysis)
- Gas pycnometry (density)
- Image analysis of bigger pores
The dedicated analyzers are
- Gas adsorption: AUTOSORB-, QUADRASORB-, NOVA-series, MONOSORB
- Density and TAP density: ULTRAPYC 1200e and AUTOTAP
- Image analysis of bigger pores: OCCHIO SCAN600
